The Flintstones (1994)

The Flintstones, created by Hanna-Barbara and first broadcast by ABC in 1960, was the first cartoon series ever scheduled on any network during prime time, and still enjoys worldwide popularity. Thirty-four years later the live action film version was released by Universal Studios starring John Goodman, as Fred Flintstone, and Rick Moranis, as Barney Rubble. Elizabeth Perkins and Rosie O’Donnell co-star as Wilma and Betty.

Several steps were involved in creating the Flintstone mobile. First, a full sized body was formed of foam, and then molds were created to produce the final body version. Since Prehistoric Bedrock does not have gas powered engines, the car is foot powered or appears to be on screen. In actuality, one of the cars had an electric engine to make filming easier on the actors.
